Sister Kay serves as the mission director, overseeing operations at Little Assisi, a school dedicated to children with learning disabilities. This school was Established in 2005 with just five children, the school expanded in 2007 when Sister Helen purchased a house in the Ngombe community, transforming it into the school's headquarters. Before acquiring the building, the school had already enrolled 30 children, who were initially home-schooled by volunteers who went into the community to find them.
To encourage parents to send their children to school, Little Assisi provides breakfast and lunch, with meals like tea or porridge for breakfast. The school relies on donations to feed the children, receiving contributions such as bags of mealie meal, buns, and other essentials from generous donors.
Little Assisi School is open Monday to Friday, enrolling children from the age of five and above. As of 2024 the school has enrolled over 75 children.
She went on saying the the instant porridge will be of great impact to the children and will help carter the childrens breakfast for the next 2 months.
